I tackled this by putting in weatherstripping around the edge on the front and back (not the sides, which will keep it from closing) and that seems to have solved the problem.ħ. The problem is that because it will flex, it allows wind, water, bugs etc to be sucked in to the front. Waterproof: It's not, nor bug proof or windproof. Unless you have a 60 mph tailwind, expect it to knock off 2-3 mpg.Ħ. Mileage: If you think it won't reduce your mileage, let me introduce you to a little concept called aerodynamics. Note that it has a relatively low weight capacity.ĥ. I put in it a stroller, a pack and play, and various crushable floor toys for the kiddo.
